DS Smith was this week recognised for excellence in rebranding at the European Transform Awards. We walked away (slightly tipsy) with two gongs – a Highly Commended for Best Overall Brand Consolidation and a Bronze trophy for the Best Rebrand in the Industrial and Basic Material Sector, marking the culmination of an 18 month project. The Transform Awards are the industry benchmark for brand evolution, brand development and brand transformation and the 2014 event was judged by a panel of experienced in-house practitioners, branding experts and journalists from companies including Barclaycard, Bauer Media and FIFA.

It’s been a busy few months at Unreal. From Italian weddings in Tuscany to luxury yachts in Turkey, our latest projects have taken us all over the world (we wish!). Just sayin’ (again).

At the end of last week we popped down to Wapping to check out Montoype’s latest exhibition ‘Pencil to Pixel’, which documents typeface creation from the past, present and future.
From beautiful original drawings to one off prints and fun facts (Monotype has its very own train station?!) it really was worth a peek.

On Friday, to coincide with the start of London 2012, we went along to the opening of The Retreat – a 17 day exclusive hospitality event held at The Brewery throughout the Olympics, in association with The Financial Times.
We are proud to have created the brand and marketing material prior to the launch and were delighted to be there to see all the action kick off.
With champagne flowing, the evening started with drinking games in the courtyard, followed by the Olympic Games in the 400 seater cinema.

Following Seb Coe’s announcement that Olympic-goers wouldn’t be allowed into the new Olympic Park wearing a Pepsi t-shirt, we set about creating some LOCOG friendly attire in honour of the brands that won’t make it into this year’s games.
Also featured with some of the Unreal team opposite is Kevin Minnis our recent placement who comes highly recommended… Especially after avoiding a knife attack in Leyton on his way to pick the t-shirts up from the printers.
The British weather stayed true to form on Friday when we battled the elements for a studio summer outing to Ascot. Attending on ‘Essex day’ we hoped to catch a glimpse of the cast of TOWIE…but instead we ended up with half the Royal Family (the real one!)
Champagne was drunk, money was lost and Queenie was saluted. All in all, a right royal time was had by all!
