This year we worked with the Royal Mint and the Treasury to help introduce the new 12-sided one pound coin to businesses, helping clarify the reason why a new coin is being introduced. We created and art directed the launch campaign for the new pound coin. We even got our hands on one of the new one pound coins, which we promptly had to give back and seal in the secure vaults of the Treasury. Check out this animation Henry has been working on recently with our pals over at Kindred, for Go Ultra Low. As part of a current campaign supported by the UK automative industry and Government to encourage drivers to consider ultra low-emission vehicles, this is just the first of seven films to be produced so keep your eyes peeled for more quirky films to come!

Not that we’re superficial or anything, but we think our website refresh for Family Ltd is looking pretty pretty. An events and film production studio based in Shoreditch, Family Ltd produce a huge breadth of unique projects in fashion, presentations and exhibitions so for now we’ve just packaged up a sleek holding page to tease everyone as we redress the whole site from head to toe.
So whilst we restyle the main site, head on to Family Ltd to catch a glimpse of it’s fresh new look (or even just to play with the nice colours), and watch this space to see Family grow.
Some call them ‘The most read English news site in the world’, others ‘The site of shame’, and in certain darker circles, ‘The crack column’. But to us, they’re just a buzzing new client…that made us sign a NDA…Which makes showing off and writing this post a tad tricky…So we’ll just show you a few pictures of some of the work we’ve been doing with them…Well, actually we’ll show you only a couple of images of some of the work we think we can show off for our exciting new client… Damn you The MailOnline for being such a tease…oops…You heard nothing from us okay?
Another nod in Unreal’s direction – Our work for The People’s Supermarket has been mentioned in the April 2015 issue of Entrepreneur. Nice to see that a branding project that stemmed from a £12 Euroslot hole punch we bought from Ebay is still being talked about after FastCo Design named it one of the Top 10 rebrands of 2010.

We’re proud to announce that our recent work with global packaging strategists
DS Smith was this week recognised for excellence in rebranding at the European Transform Awards. We walked away (slightly tipsy) with two gongs – a Highly Commended for Best Overall Brand Consolidation and a Bronze trophy for the Best Rebrand in the Industrial and Basic Material Sector, marking the culmination of an 18 month project. The Transform Awards are the industry benchmark for brand evolution, brand development and brand transformation and the 2014 event was judged by a panel of experienced in-house practitioners, branding experts and journalists from companies including Barclaycard, Bauer Media and FIFA.

It’s been a busy few months at Unreal. From Italian weddings in Tuscany to luxury yachts in Turkey, our latest projects have taken us all over the world (we wish!). Head over to ‘What we’ve done’ to feast your eyes on these and five other exciting new projects we’ve been busy working on. Also, did we mention that we’ve recently acquired a studio dog? Just sayin’ (again).
We’ve just moved into our shiny new studio (and gained a studio dog!!) You can now find us on the 4th Floor at 52 Horseferry Road, London, SW1P 2AF. Stay tuned as we put the finishing touches to our new home or pop in for a cuppa to say hello.
We’ve just completed the rebranding for luxury yachtmakers Arkin Pruva. The new look launches in this month’s edition of Boat International through advertising also created by Unreal. A new identity formed from two ‘A’ and ‘P’ sails sits at the heart of the new look, while the strapline ‘Pure Craft’ emphasises the heritage, passion and performance of the Arkin Pruva boatyard.
The company’s latest yacht, The Tempus Class is due to launch later this year. If you’ve got a few million pounds to spare and think you might be interested, stay tuned for the website and printed material which will all be on our projects page soon.
We’re proud to unveil the Swiss Modernist-inspired identity for The Milk Race, a cycle race popular in the 1980s, which has been revived by The Dairy Council and Milk Marketing Forum. The Milk Race, previously an elite men’s stage-based race, ran between 1958-1993, and is set to return as a road race in Nottingham for elite men and women, taking place in May.
Currently being used in launch material for the Race (as modelled opposite by Olympic gold medalist Steven Burke and Dairy Council Chairman Sandy Wilkie) we’re also working on branded winners’ jerseys and banners for the full length of the circuit. The work has been produced in conjunction with Kindred Agency who are developing online, social media and PR for the event.
Our long term client Spayne Lindsay, a London based financial advisory firm, send out a yearly mailer to celebrate the deals they’ve made over the last year. Based on the success of last years mailer, we were given the task of designing this years too.
2012’s deals were all internationally focussed, so the perfect solution was to create their very own ‘Spayne Lindsay Passport’. Spayne Lindsay traditionally show their deals in a ‘tombstone’ format – we turned each of these into passport stamps, which feature throughout the mailer, alongside relevant country stamps, telling the story of 2012’s international successes.

Unreal has rebranded Jeeves ‘London’s Finest Dry Cleaners.’ The consultancy was appointed to the branding work due to an existing relationship with the client, having previously worked on its advertising.
The new branding shelves the previous marque, an image of two ladies carrying parcels, and instead gives prominence to the ‘by appointment to H.R.H The Prince of Wales’ crest and the brand’s 40-plus year heritage.

Avoiding the obvious name-dropping of artists, illustrators and copywriters, we wanted to talk about the people we collaborate with on a daily basis that make the job possible: Our clients.
Collaboration comes from an ability to understand each other’s ideas; to listen and react to problems and, above all, to trust in the abilities of each other. Our clients’ abilities to work with us in the creative process is crucial. So crucial in fact, we talk about on our homepage (look for the swans).

Unreal has designed two books for The People’s Supermarket, a co-operative supermarket which featured in a Channel 4 documentary of the same name.
The People’s Supermarket is a community-based shop managed and owned by members selling largely locally sourced, seasonal and sustainable produce. Unreal – which designed The People’s Supermarket identity in 2010 – was asked to create one book, Secret Sauce, which tells the story of the supermarket. A second, the Members Manual, details the membership process and what to expect when volunteering at the supermarket.

On Friday, to coincide with the start of London 2012, we went along to the opening of The Retreat – a 17 day exclusive hospitality event held at The Brewery throughout the Olympics, in association with The Financial Times.
We are proud to have created the brand and marketing material prior to the launch and were delighted to be there to see all the action kick off.
With champagne flowing, the evening started with drinking games in the courtyard, followed by the Olympic Games in the 400 seater cinema.

Following Seb Coe’s announcement that Olympic-goers wouldn’t be allowed into the new Olympic Park wearing a Pepsi t-shirt, we set about creating some LOCOG friendly attire in honour of the brands that won’t make it into this year’s games.
Also featured with some of the Unreal team opposite is Kevin Minnis our recent placement who comes highly recommended… Especially after avoiding a knife attack in Leyton on his way to pick the t-shirts up from the printers.

One part of the rebrand we’re particularly fond of in our new business cards, lovingly printed by Generation Press. The brief was to ensure they outshone those of Paul Allen in this classic American Psycho scene.Mission accomplished!
